Other Ways to Give
Beyond a direct donation, there are many ways to support PS 889. Every form of giving — financial or otherwise — makes a real difference for our kids.
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
If you have a donor-advised fund through Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or another provider, you can recommend a grant to the PS 889 Parent Association. DAF gifts are a tax-efficient way to support the school — and the process is usually just a few clicks in your fund's portal.

Employer Matching
Many NYC employers — including Google, Meta, Bloomberg, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, and dozens more — will match your charitable donations. Some even offer 2:1 or 3:1 matches. Check your company's HR portal or intranet for “matching gifts” and use our EIN: 82-3132702.

Recurring Monthly Giving
A small monthly gift adds up to a big impact over the school year. Setting up a recurring donation is one of the easiest and most powerful ways to support PS 889 — and you only have to think about it once.
Even $20/month provides $240 over the school year — enough to fund classroom supplies for an entire grade.
Volunteer Your Time
Not every gift is financial. The PA runs entirely on parent volunteers, and your time is one of the most valuable things you can give. Whether you have an hour for a single event or want to join a committee for the year, there's a way to help that fits your schedule.
Stock & Securities Transfers
Donating appreciated stock or securities can be a tax-efficient way to give — you may avoid capital gains taxes while receiving a full fair-market-value deduction. If you're interested in making a gift of stock or securities, please contact our treasurer to discuss the process.
